Little Ego is an erotic comic strip by the Italian comic artist Vittorio Giardino . According to Harald Havas , this comic made the graphic artist "suddenly [...] internationally known". In addition, Little Ego was the first erotic adventure drawn by Giardino. According to Tim Pilcher , Little Ego is Giardino's most famous work.

Plot and publications

The plot, which is based on Winsor McCay's Little Nemo , tells in short stories the erotic daydreams of the attractive protagonist who, after waking up, ponders every time how she tells the dream to her psychoanalyst . The reverie content covers many varieties of sex, including homosexuality and zoophilia .

The first strip of little ego appeared in Italy in January 1984 for the magazine Glamor belonging Glamor International Magazine . An Italian-language album was released by Glamor Verlag in 1990. An American complete edition had been published a year earlier by Catalan Communications in New York, as was a French edition by Glénat . The American magazine Heavy Metal also published stories from Little Ego in 1993 and 1994 in loose succession . A German-language edition was published in 1990 in the Erotic Souvenirs series by Carlsen Verlag . In addition, Little Ego was published in Danish, Portuguese and Spanish, among others.
