Little People is a Danish - American clay animation series for preschoolers from 2003 . It is based on the toy series of the same name. A new version of the series has been appearing under the same name since 2016.

The five little friends always help when someone is in need. The group consists of the clever and always logical Maggie, the clever and creative Michael, the loving Sonya Lee, the impulsive and always positive Eddie and the curious, but occasionally grumpy Sarah Lynn. Together they experience lots of fun adventures with their coach that drives from place to place and learn new things in the process. Production and publication

The series was produced between 2000 and 2003 by Egmont Imagination in a Danish-American cooperation. This resulted in 2 seasons with 130 episodes.

The German first broadcast took place on July 27, 2002 on Super RTL . The series was also released on DVD and VHS .

In 1959 , the Little People coach was launched as a toy for preschool children by Fisher-Price . A short time later, the Little People characters followed, which have sold over two billion times worldwide. Further articles and media adaptations for the series followed. In total, the figures were sold in over 60 countries and were inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2016 .
