Elizabeth "Liz" Wahl (* 1985 on the United States Naval Base Subic Bay in the Philippines ) is an American journalist and television presenter . From 2011 to February 2015 she worked for the RT America channel of the Russian foreign television RT in Washington.

Life

Liz Wahl was born in the United States Naval Base Subic Bay in the Philippines to a Filipino mother and an American father of Hungarian descent. She grew up in Connecticut and studied at Fairfield University .

From 2011 to February 2015 she worked as a TV presenter at the headquarters of RT America , the US channel of the Russian foreign broadcaster RT in Washington. She became known when she criticized Russia's invasion of Ukraine and RT's coverage of it on a live broadcast . She announced her resignation "on air". Her case has been picked up by CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, The View and the Colbert Report , among others . In 2016, Wahl summarized her criticism of her former employer in an article for the Ukrainian website StopFake : “ [M] y experience as an RT reporter and anchor was that RT's main goal is not to seek truth and report it.
