Lizhou

Location of the prefecture-level city of Guangyuan, where the Lizhou district is located.

Lizhou ( Chinese  利 州 区 , Pinyin Lìzhōu Qū ) is a district of the prefecture -level city of Guangyuan in the northeast of the Chinese province of Sichuan . It has an area of ​​1,492 square kilometers and has a population of 460,000 (2004). Lizhou was formerly called "Shizhong" ( 市 中 区 , Shìzhōng qū ). On March 13, 2007, the name was changed to Lizhou.

Lizhou is bordered by Wangcang County to the east, Zhaohua District and Jiange County to the south, Qingchuan County to the west, and Chaotian District to the north .
