Lyubomir Dimitrov Andrejtschin ( Bulgarian Любомир Димитров Андрейчин ; born April 4, 1910 in Gabrovo , Bulgaria , † September 3, 1975 in Varna ) was a Bulgarian philologist .

Life

Andrejtschin studied Slavic Studies in Sofia and later specialized in Krakow . At the University of Sofia he introduced the synchronic description of the Bulgarian language as a subject. In 1944 he published Basic Bulgarian Grammar . It gained normative importance and significantly influenced research on Bulgarian grammar . In other works he devoted himself to the modern Bulgarian literary language. In 1957 he took over the position of director of the Institute for Bulgarian Language at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences .
