The Llanelly and Mynydd Mawr Railway (LMMR) was a British railway company based in Carmarthenshire in Wales .
history
The company was founded on July 19, 1875. Member of Parliament and entrepreneur Charles William Nevill became President of the Society. For 1,400 pounds she took over the remaining facilities of the Carmarthenshire Railway . A railway line from Llanelli to Cross Hands was built on the existing railway line . The 19-kilometer route was opened on January 1, 1883. With the Railways Act 1921 , the company was added to the Great Western Railway on January 1, 1923 .
The line was in operation until 1989. Since 1999, the Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway has been trying to rebuild the line.
