Club career
Róbert Jež was born in Nitra in 1981, where he began his active football career with FC Nitra . At FCN he went through the entire youth department before he could celebrate his debut in the 1999/00 season of the Corgoň liga . At the end of the season he was relegated to the second division with the club, but Jež was able to continue his career in the top Czech division because he signed a contract with Viktoria Plzen . After five years in Pilsen with a short detour to 1. FK Příbram , where he was loaned out in the 2004/05 season, he came to the multiple Slovak title holder in recent years, the MŠK Žilina . Jež was able to win his first title of his career at MSK, the championship title in 2007 and 2010 . With Žilina, the midfielder also played in his last year there in the Champions League against Olympique Marseille , Spartak Moscow and Chelsea .
After five very successful years, Jež moved to Górnik Zabrze for half a year in the 2010/11 winter transfer window . In the summer of 2011 he signed a contract with Ekstraklasa competitor Polonia Warsaw . There he was supposed to replace Adrian Mierzejewski , who had moved to Trabzonspor in Turkey . Jež was not yet able to fill the gap of his predecessor with satisfaction in the first games of the 2011/12 season . In the summer of 2012, he moved to league rivals Zagłębie Lubin . After 40 league games and four goals for Lubin, he moved to league competitor Górnik Zabrze in winter 2014.
