description
Loch Riecawr is a natural lake, the discharge of which is regulated by a concrete dam on the east bank. The system operated by Scottish Water is used to supply drinking water.
The lake is at an altitude of 282 meters above sea level. Loch Riecawr has a length of 1.5 kilometers with a maximum width of 1.1 kilometers, resulting in an area of 85 hectares and a circumference of five kilometers. The outflow of Loch Slochy to the west flows into the south-west bank , which feeds the lake volume of 3,169,703 kiloliters . Castle Loch's catchment area is 1,770 hectares. The lake has an average depth of 3.7 meters and a maximum depth of 9.0 meters.
The runoff on the east bank flows through the small Loch Gower , 400 meters to the east . The outlet known as Whitespout Lane joins Eglin Lane , which forms the outlet of Loch Macaterick , to form Carrick Lane , the main tributary of Loch Doon . This drains over the Doon into the Firth of Clyde .
