Loch Venachar ( Scottish Gaelic : Loch Bheannchair ) is a freshwater lake in Stirling between Callander and Brig o 'Turk . The hole is about 82 m above sea level and is six kilometers long, with a maximum depth of about 33 meters.
Loch Venachar is fed at the western end by the Black Water coming from Loch Achray ; the drain at the eastern end is the Eas Gobhain , which flows into the Leny at Callander .
On the southern bank of the Loch there is an extensive forest with numerous hiking trails that lead, among other things, to the Lake of Menteith ; Also on the south bank is the Invertrossachs House , used by Queen Victoria in 1869 as a summer residence. To the west is Loch Achray and the Trossachs ; to the north of Loch Venachar is the first mountain in the Scottish Highlands , Ben Ledi .
