The village of Lodbergen with its villages Holthausen and Duderstadt belongs to the municipality of Löningen in the district of Cloppenburg .

Villagescape

Lodbergen, Holthausen and Duderstadt are integrated into an agrarian cultural landscape. They are loose village structures with small housing developments. Half-timbered houses, pastures with horses, framed by hedges and cottage gardens that merge into the landscape, form the village idyll. The landscape is limited by the lowland of the Löninger Mühlenbach . Altitudes vary between 24 and 34 m above sea level. Today's landscape has been largely influenced by land consolidation . The still clearly recognizable settlement structure of a Dubbel speaks for the planned layout around 800 AD. Today the village image is formed by the loosely connected courtyards with old oak trees. In the post-war years there were also pure housing estates. Important design features for building a house are: red roof tiles, red brickwork z. T. truss. A new building area has been developing in Lodbergen (Zum Vosseberg) for several years. In addition, old buildings, especially half-timbered houses, are being renovated on a private initiative.

Village development

Local historians assume that the region around Lodbergen is ancient settlement land. Archaeological finds from around 3000 BC are evidence of this. First mentioned Lodbergen around 1275 as Luttbergen. Together with the Holthausen and Duderstadt farmers, Lodbergen forms a quarter. In the second half of the 18th century, Lodbergen received its own school, which lasted until 1972. The shooting club built its own shooting hall in the 1970s. At the end of the 1980s, the former school night Lodbergen took over the old school building from the city of Löningen, in which a village community center has now been set up. The old school bell has been hanging in the bell tower that was built for it for several years. The 1990s to the present day are characterized by residential buildings. The purely farming village has also become a residential area in which around 300 citizens now live, 64 of them under 15 years of age. Lodbergen has been a closed village since September 2012.
