Lode Baekelmans (born January 26, 1879 in Antwerp , Belgium , † May 11, 1965 there ) was a Flemish writer and narrator.

Life

Baekelmans grew up in the port region of Antwerp. During his youth he developed a great interest in the inhabitants of the region, which would shape his later works.

Lode Baekelmans married Alida Resseler, the daughter of Victor Resseler (1877–1955).
