Loensia variegata is a traffic jam blues from the family Psocidae .

features

The insects reach a length of 3 to 4 millimeters. They have a distinctive pattern. Four dark bands, some of which are connected to one another, run across the wings. In addition, the wings are covered with numerous small white dots.

distribution and habitat

The species is common in the Palearctic . Their occurrence ranges from Europe and the Canary Islands through the Middle East and Russia to Taiwan in East Asia.

Way of life

The dust lice can be observed from March to August. They often hang out on tree trunks. They feed on moss , lichen, and mushrooms.
