The Loeper family mausoleum

Mausoleum Loeper

The burial place of the Loeper family, designed in the Greek-Doric style, is in the cemetery on Gotlindestraße, which was abandoned in 1970. In 1996 it was still intact, since 2007 it has been empty and left to decay, although it is a listed building. Until 1996, the family members are said to have been lying in metal coffins, mostly not decomposed. Then vandals broke into the mausoleum several times and cut u. a. The heads of the dead were also removed, but the police found them and brought them back. After this horrific occurrence, everyone was buried “correctly”, the place was not known.
