Loïc Bigois (born September 19, 1960 in Aix-en-Provence ) is a French aerodynamicist . He is head aerodynamicist at Scuderia Ferrari .

Career

After graduating in aerodynamics from the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers in Paris, he initially worked for ten years as an aerodynamics engineer at Microturbo Gas Turbines and switched to Formula 1 at Ligier-Ford in 1990 . In 1994 he became chief aerodynamicist at Sauber-Mercedes , but returned to Ligier a year later as assistant to the technical director. When the team was sold to the four-time Formula 1 world champion Alain Prost , he initially kept the job and moved to Minardi as chief aerodynamicist after the 2000 season, which was disappointing for Prost-Peugeot . He stayed for three years in Faenza before 2004 at Williams-BMW docked. After separating from BMW, he worked at Williams for another year and switched to Honda in 2007 . After the departure of the Japanese and the takeover by Ross Brawn , he was again chief designer for the new Brawn-Mercedes team and also for the Mercedes team that emerged from the team in 2010. Bigois has been the new chief aerodynamicist at Scuderia Ferrari since January 2013 .

Bigois is married and has two children. He lives with his family in Oxfordshire, UK .
