Lok Sabha constituency of Dharwad North
The Lok Sabha constituency of Dharwad North (also Dharwar North ) was a constituency in the elections for Lok Sabha , the lower house of the Indian parliament , from 1951 to 2004 . It belonged to the state of Bombay until 1956 and to the state of Mysore from 1956 to 1973 , before it was renamed Karnataka in 1973 . The constituency comprised the northern part of what was then the Dharwad district . In the course of the reorganization of the constituencies before the Lok Sabha election in 2009 , the constituency of Dharwad North was dissolved. Most of the former constituency came to the newly created constituency Dharwad , a smaller part to the also new constituency Haveri .
