The local railway Strakonitz-Blatná-Breznitz with branches (tschech .: Místní dráha Strakonice Blatná Březnice-s odbočkami ) was a state-guaranteed local railway - stock company in today's Czech Republic . The company was based in Prague .

history

On September 21, 1896, the " Ferdinand Freiherrn v. Hildprandt in Blatná in association with Karl Freiherrn v. Lilgenau in Schluesselburg, Franz Steiner in Blatná, Wenzel Pobuda in Rožmital, Anton Sündermann in Unter-Březan and Lambert Pavek in Schluesselburg the requested concession to build and operate a standard-gauge local train from the Strakonitz station on the Gmünd-Eger state railway via Blatná to Březnitz station on the Protivin – Zditz state railway line ”. Part of the concession was the obligation to start construction of the line immediately and to finish it within two years. On February 21, 1897 the o. G. Concessionaires also obtained the permit for the construction and operation of the Blatná – Nepomuk and Březnitz – Rožmital branch lines. The company's share capital totaled 2,337,000 crowns.

On January 24, 1898, the statutory completion date of the lines was changed to June 1, 1899 in a declaration by the Ministry of Railways. The routes were finally opened on June 11, 1899.

The operation was carried out by the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) on behalf of the local railway Strakonitz – Blatná – Březnitz. After the First World War , the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) took over the management of the kkStB. On January 1, 1925, the Strakonitz – Blatná – Březnitz local railway was nationalized by law and the lines were integrated into the ČSD network.

The routes still exist. Today they belong to the network of the state-owned Czech infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC). (Last updated 2012)

Vehicle use

The operational kkStB procured three locomotives of the kkStB series 97 and one kkStB series 178 on behalf of the local railway Strakonitz – Blatná – Březnitz . They had the company numbers 97.140-144 and 178.141.
