Passenger train to Nepomuk in Blatná (2012)

The concession for the local railway Blatna Nepomuk received the founder of the local railway Strakonitz-Blatná-Breznitz along with the route Breznitz-Rozmitál on February 21, 1897. Opened was the route on 11 June 1899. The operation resulted in the Imperial State Railways (kkStB) for the owner's account.

In 1912 the timetable of the local railway indicated three mixed pairs of 2nd and 3rd class trains. It took about 90 minutes for the 32-kilometer route.

After the collapse of Austria-Hungary in October 1918, management was transferred to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD). With the nationalization of the local railway company from January 1, 1925, the infrastructure also belonged to the ČSD network.

With the use of modern motorized trains , travel times were significantly shortened at the end of the 1920s. The winter timetable of 1937/38 listed five pairs of 3rd class passenger trains, all of which ran as motorized trains. The travel time on the Nepomuk – Blatná route was only 47–50 minutes.

During the Second World War , the route lay entirely in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia . The operators were now the Protectorate Railways Bohemia and Moravia (ČMD-BMB). On May 9, 1945, the entire line came back to the ČSD.

On January 1, 1993, the line was transferred to the newly founded České dráhy (ČD) in the course of the dissolution of Czechoslovakia . Since 2003 it has been part of the network of the state infrastructure operator Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).

In the 2019 timetable, the route is served by nine pairs of passenger trains on weekdays, and three on the weekends. Another pair of trains on weekdays serves the Blatná – Kasejovice route in the evenings.
