Wilhelm Fredemann

Wilhelm Fredemann (born April 15, 1897 in Neuenkirchen (Melle) ; † October 11, 1984 there ) was a German author and educator .

biography

Wilhelm Fredemann was a teacher, rector and writer in Neuenkirchen. In addition to his main job as a teacher and secondary school rector, he has written works on regional history and the regional language in high and low German .

Fredemann was born the youngest of three sons in a farming family. After attending elementary school in his home village, he was at the teachers' college in Tecklenburg and Recklinghausen from 1911 to 1916 . From 1916 to 1918 he was a soldier in the First World War . After his two older brothers had died, he inherited his parents' Fredehof in Neuenkirchen, where he lived until the end of his life. After returning from the war, he worked as a primary school teacher. From 1924 to 1927 he did additional training to become a secondary school teacher in the subjects of history and mathematics in Bielefeld . Afterwards he taught at the secondary school in Neuenkirchen and later also became rector there. He retired in 1963.

In 1920 Wilhelm Fredemann married Anna Auguste Varwig and had two children. He died on October 11, 1984 in Neuenkirchen. His grave is in the cemetery of his hometown Neuenkirchen (Melle) .
