Jakob Heusser

Jakob Heusser (born March 14, 1895 in Uster ; † March 12, 1989 in Zurich ) was a Swiss politician (BGB) .

biography

Jakob Heusser, born in Uster in 1895 as the son of a farmer, trained as an agricultural engineer at the ETH Zurich after graduating from the Strickhof agricultural school in Zurich . Jakob Heusser worked for the appraisal office of the Swiss Farmers' Association in Brugg until 1924, and from 1925 as an agriculture teacher at the Strickhof, of which he was elected director in 1941. Heusser also acted as part-time director of the Zürcher Bauernhilfskasse between 1933 and 1941. On the occasion of the inauguration of the new building of the Zurich cantonal hospital that gave him medical faculty of the University of Zurich the honorary doctorate . Jakob Heusser died in 1989 two days before he would turn 94 in Zurich. He was buried in the Fluntern  cemetery. His tomb was lifted.

Heusser, a member of the BGB, was a member of the Zurich government council between 1943 and 1963 , where he headed the health and welfare directorate. As a member of the government council, Heusser remained a representative of farmers ' interests as president of the Swiss Agricultural Association and as a member of the executive committee of the Swiss Farmers' Association .
