Lokomotiv-Izumrud Yekaterinburg ( Russian Локомотив Изумруд Екатеринбург ) is a Russian men's volleyball club from Yekaterinburg , Sverdlovsk Oblast . The club was founded in 1945 and has played in the Russian super league since 1992. Lokomotiv became Russian champions in 1999 and won the Russian Cup in 1999, 2000 and 2001. Internationally they were successful in 1999 with a third place in the European Cup Winners' Cup , in 2004 with a third place in the CEV Cup and in 2008 with a second place in the Challenge Cup . After two relegations in 2008 and 2010, Lokomotiv succeeded each time in an immediate return to the super league.
