Lola Todd (born May 14, 1904 in New York City , † July 31, 1995 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actress of the silent film era .

Life

Lola Todd moved from New York to Los Angeles in the early 1920s to begin an acting career. In 1923 she got her first film roles.

Over the next six years, Todd appeared in nearly 30 film productions. Among other things, she played Pocahontas in Pocahontas and John Smith in 1924 and thus became one of the first actresses of this role in a film (the first actress was Anna Rosemond in 1910). Todd has also appeared in several westerns . In 1925 Todd was elected one of the WAMPAS Baby Stars who were predicted to have a great film career. However, this was not the case in her case. From 1927 Todd was mostly only seen in supporting roles, her career was over after only a few years. In 1929 she ended her acting career. In her last film, Whirls and Girls , Todd's last name wasn't even featured in the credits.

Little is known about Lola Todd's personal life. After retiring, she lived in Los Angeles, where she died on July 31, 1995 at the age of 91.
