Lomana Trésor LuaLua (born December 28, 1980 in Kinshasa , Zaïre ) ( also written Lomana Lua Lua ) is a Congolese football player. His position is in attack or in attacking midfield . His younger brother Kazenga LuaLua is also a professional footballer.

Career

In 1998 he began his professional career at Colchester United . After two seasons with this club in the Football League Second Division , he came into the focus of several first division clubs , including Newcastle United , where he finally signed.

In Newcastle he played in the Champions League in 2002/03, but was not really successful in four years. After only seven league appearances in 2003/04, he moved to Portsmouth FC , where he was under contract until 2007.

In the 2007/2008 season LuaLua played with the shirt number 32 for the Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus . In the summer of 2008 Lomana LuaLua moves to al-Arabi in Qatar . In winter 2010, however, he went back to Olympiacos. On July 4th 2010, Olympiakos announced the transfer of Lomana Trésor LuaLua to Omonia Nicosia.

In summer 2012 he moved to the Turkish first division club Kardemir Karabükspor .

In spring 2014 LuaLua moved to Çaykur Rizespor within the Süper Lig . At the end of January 2015, he left this club again. On the last day of the winter transfer period 2014/15, he moved to Akhisar Belediyespor .

After a year at Akhisar Belediyespor, he moved to the second division side Şanlıurfaspor and played until the summer of 2016.

National team

At the Africa Cup of 2004 , LuaLua was already captain of the team at the age of 23. However, his team lost all three preliminary round games and eliminated. LuaLua himself saw the red card in the game against Tunisia .

He was captain at the 2006 African Cup of Nations. He even led the DR Congo team to the quarter-finals but unfortunately they lost the game against Egypt. For the African Cup of Nations in 2008 to DR Congo failed to qualify, nor for the African Cup of 2010.
