The London Dungeon is a horror cabinet in London . It opened in 1974 and has been on Westminster Bridge Road in the Bankside ( Southwark ) district since March 2013 . For many years it had previously been located on Tooley Street, beneath the tracks of London Bridge Station .

The London Dungeon thematizes the bloody history of England over the past thousand years. Includes exhibits about the Great Plague of London , the Great Fire of London , Jack the Ripper , Sweeney Todd , Bloody Mary and Alexander Bean .

Actors are employed to entertain the visitors with horror experiences as monsters or other creatures , which also includes sneezing by a woman who is believed to be suffering from plague. A Halloween party is held at the London Dungeon on October 31st each year .

The London Dungeon is owned by the Merlin Entertainments Group . There are similar establishments as The Amsterdam Dungeon , York Dungeon , Berlin Dungeon , Hamburg Dungeon and Edinburgh Dungeon as well as in the Blackpool Tower .
