The Long Barrow of Notgrove is a megalithic type Cotswold Severn Tomb , which was excavated between 1934 and 1881 1935th Notgrove is west of Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire in England . The trapezoidal mound is 46 m long and 24 m wide. It was framed on the outside by a low retaining wall made of dry stone . Today only a grassy mound can be seen at the site.

Originally there was a round hill with a stone box in which the remains of an old man lay at the site of the complex . A young woman's bones were deposited at the top of the hill. Later a west-east oriented Long Barrow ( German  "long earth hill" ) was performed above the hill . On the east side was a curved forecourt with a narrow corridor that leads into a gallery with side chambers. Two pairs of side chambers are combined with one end chamber , as in the Long Barrow by Nympsfield and in the Uley Long Barrow .

The remains of at least six adults, three children, a newborn baby, and many animal bones were found in the chambers. Other remains were found in the area of the forecourt along with evidence of fires.
