Long Island is an uninhabited island in Hudson Bay off the west coast of the Labrador Peninsula . It is separated from the mainland by the 8 km wide Long Island Sound . The island is located 15 km north of Pointe Louis-XIV , the cape that marks the transition from James Bay to the actual Hudson Bay.

Politically, it belongs to the Qikiqtaaluk region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut . Their area is 168 km². The elongated island has a longitudinal extension of 50 km and a maximum width of 5 km. In the east of the island is its highest point with 53 m.

There are other islands of the same name in the Nunavut Territory, but they are much smaller and less significant.
