North Twin Island (English for "northern twin island") is an uninhabited island in James Bay east of Akimiski Island .
The area of the island is 157 km².
The smaller neighboring island of South Twin Island is about 10 km southeast. Together the two islands form the Twin Islands . Politically, they belong to the Qikiqtaaluk region of the Canadian territory of Nunavut .
fauna
North Twin Island is an important breeding ground for Canada goose and American ringed plover . Red grouse and arctic tern are native to the island .
