Longchuan (Heyuan)

The circle Longchuan ( Chinese 龙川县 , pinyin Longchuan Xiàn ) is a circle in the Chinese province of Guangdong . It belongs to the administrative area of the Prefecture of Heyuan City . Longchuan has an area of 3,088 km² and has a population of 860,000 (2003). The main town is the municipality of Laolong (老 隆镇).
Longchuan is located on the upper reaches of the East River ( Dong Jiang ), in its area the Guang-Mei-Shan railway line 广 梅 汕 铁路 ( Guangzhou - Meizhou - Shantou ) and the Jing-Jiu railway line 京九 铁路 ( Beijing - Kowloon ) intersect .
