Look Away ( English for "look away") is a song by Darude and Sebastian Rejman from 2019. It was written by the two of them and represented Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv .
background
On January 29th, the Finnish broadcaster YLE announced at a press conference that Darude and Sebastian Rejman would represent Finland at the ESC 2019. Her song should be determined on March 2nd in the preliminary decision Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2019 . The three songs to choose from were released on February 8th, 15th and 22nd. Here was Lookaway the last song that was released after Release Me and Superman . It was also the last contribution presented at Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu. In the jury voting the song received 96 out of a possible 96 points, but also in the televoting it won clearly ahead of the other two songs with 148.
At the ESC, the song was presented on May 14, 2019 in the first semifinals as the third song and took last place in its semifinals.

content
The song deals with social and ecological problems such as climate change , wars or diseases . The message of the song is that you shouldn't look the other way, but notice these things and think about them.
Music video
The music video was produced by Jaakko Manninen . The pictures show deserts , forests , sandy beaches and northern lights .
reception
Mari Koppinen from the HS was disappointed and criticized the lack of suspense compared to Sandstorm. She would have liked Rejman's role to be closer to that of Gunnhild Tvinnereim, who sang the 1995 Eurovision winning title, Nocturne , which was 22 words. Look Away is a disposable item.
ESC Kompakt gave the title 18 out of 36 points. The title was "really the best overall package" in the preliminary decision, but the lack of contemporary components was criticized.
At ESCXTRA the song reached 5.50 out of 10 possible points. The weak vocals of Rejman and the missing hook were mentioned as points of criticism. However, the stage production was praised.
