concept
As in the previous year , the UMK in 2019 consisted of only one participant selected internally by YLE , who presented three songs. These were then evaluated in a voting round, 50% by an international jury and 50% by televoting. The song with the most votes then won the preliminary round.
Choice of contribution
YLE did not start a public call this year either, but chose its ESC participant internally for the second time. The songs that were finally presented in the preliminary round were also selected internally by YLE.
The Finnish interpreter was officially presented at a press conference by YLE on January 29, 2019. The Finnish DJ Darude represented his country together with the singer Sebastian Rejman . As a result, the songs were released worldwide including music videos on February 8, 2019, February 15, 2019 and February 22, 2019.
final
The UMK 2019 took place on March 2nd, 2019 in the Logomo in Turku .
