Bosch Industriekessel GmbH, formerly Loos International , is a manufacturer of steam boilers and boilers for commercial and industrial use based in Gunzenhausen ( Germany ) and another production site in Bischofshofen ( Austria ).

Bosch Industriekessel employs around 600 people and generated sales of 170 million euros in 2008 . Since 1865, over 110,000 boilers have been delivered to more than 140 countries around the world. The company was family-run for five generations and has been part of the global Bosch Group since 2009. The sales activities abroad are supported by subsidiaries and branches of Bosch Thermotechnik almost all over the world.

history

In 1865 it was founded by Philipp Loos in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse . In 1879 it was relocated to Offenbach am Main . Theodor Loos built the factory in Gunzenhausen in 1917. Carlo Loos, who took over the management of the company in 1936, made a living in Gunzenhausen and around the company by founding a support association for employees in need (1938), introducing company pensions (1966) and transforming Loos into a global corporation ( including foundation of the branch in Bischofshofen / State of Salzburg 1962).

Loos applied for a patent in 1952 for the horizontal 3- pass flame tube - smoke tube boiler with internal, water-cooled reversing chamber . In 1958 there was a plant expansion in the Schlungenhof (Gunzenhausen) district for the production of medium-sized boilers and high-speed steam generators and in 1962 the plant expansion in Bischofshofen (Austria).

1980 was the establishment of the sales office in Singapore. In 1990 the sales subsidiary Loos France was established in France and in 1991 others followed with Kotle Loos in the Czech Republic and Loos Scandinavia in Denmark. In 1996 the sales subsidiary Loos Centrum was established in Poland, in 1998 Loos Hellas in Greece and in 1999 Loos China in China.

In 1999 the company Eisenwerk Theodor Loos GmbH was changed to Loos Deutschland GmbH and the entire group of companies appeared under Loos International . In 2000, Loos UK in Great Britain and in 2001 LOOS Iberica in Spain were added. In 2005, the factory in Schlungenhof, Gunzenhausen was expanded and the hundred thousandth boiler was handed over to the end customer. In 2006 the sales subsidiaries Loos Italia in Italy and in 2007 Loos Russia in Russia were founded.

In April 2009 the shareholders of Loos International decided to sell all of the company shares to Bosch Thermotechnik . Bosch Thermotechnik took over 100% of the LOOS company based in Gunzenhausen and its foreign subsidiaries and holdings on August 3, 2009.

Since April 2011, the companies in Germany and Austria have been trading under the names Bosch Industriekessel GmbH and Bosch Industriekessel Austria GmbH.

On July 1, 2012, the name Loos was given up in favor of the company name Bosch .
