Loow nü e Hiire

Loow nü e Hiire (German: Praise the Lords ) is a hymn book written in the North Frisian dialects for the Protestant communities in North Frisia . It was first published in 2000 and is the first and so far only hymn book in Frisian . With 260 hymns on 870 pages, it contains around two thirds of the volume of the Evangelical Hymnal .

In addition to German hymns and 60 songs were from the hymnal of the Church Danish translated into Frisian. Many of Grundtvig's songs have found their way into this. Many songs were translated into several North Frisian dialects. In addition to songs for worship, it also contains liturgical pieces, the Lord's Prayer and explanations of the individual dialects. Translated German and Danish songs are listed in the appendix. The hymn book is published by the Nordfriisk Instituut in Bredstedt .
