Lorck , also Lorichs , is a North German and Danish family name.

The first officially mentioned bearer of the name was the mayor, councilor and royal tax collector in Flensburg Thomas Lorck, who died in 1531. He was the father of eight children, including the businessman Balthasar († 1589), the diplomat Andreas and Anna Lorck, his successor as royal tax collector. The best-known son was the artist Melchior Lorck (* 1526/1527; † 1583), who was best known as a graphic artist .

Balthasar's son Thomas Lorck († 1634) is considered to be the progenitor of the Swedish line of the family, where the name became "Lorichs". A well-known representative of this family was Josias Lorck (1723–1785), who lived in Christianshavn as a pastor and Bible collector . His around 5,000 Bibles were brought to Germany by his nephews Christian Andersen and Thomas Lorenzen, where they formed the basis of the Stuttgart State Library (now the Württemberg State Library ).
