Lord Aston of Forfar
Lord Aston of Forfar was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Scotland , named after the Scottish town of Forfar .
Award and subordinate titles
The title was given to the English nobleman Sir Walter Aston, 1st Baronet , on November 28, 1627 . He had already been raised to Baronet , of Tixhall in the County of Stafford , on May 22, 1611 in the Baronetage of England .
With the childless death of the 5th Lord on August 24, 1751, the Baronetcy expired and the Lordship has been inactive ever since. Several descendants of the lords claimed the title of lord without obtaining official recognition. The last possibly justified descendant died in 1845.
