Lord Dunkeld
Lord Dunkeld was a hereditary British title ( Lordship of Parliament ) in the Peerage of Scotland .
Award and history of the title
The title was bestowed on May 15, 1645 by King Charles I on Sir James Galloway , lord of Carnby in Fife .
His grandson, the 3rd Lord, joined the Jacobites during the Glorious Revolution . He fought under Bonnie Dundee in the Battle of Killiecrankie in 1689 , after which he was ostracized by Parliament in 1690 and sentenced to death. His title of nobility was forfeited.
