Lord Forbes of Pitsligo
Lord Forbes of Pitsligo was a hereditary British title in the Peerage of Scotland .
The family seat of the Lords was Pitsligo Castle near Fraserburgh in Aberdeenshire .
Award
The title was created on June 24, 1633 by King Charles I for Alexander Forbes, 1st Lord Forbes of Pitsligo . He belonged to the Forbes clan and was a descendant of Sir William Forbes, brother of the 1st Lord Forbes .
In 1746 the 4th Lord was ostracized by the Bill of Attainder for participating in the Jacobite revolt of 1745 and his title was stripped from him.
