Lord Lindores
Lord Lindores was a hereditary British title ( Lordship of Parliament ) in the Peerage of Scotland .
The title was with letters patent from March 31st, 1600 by King James VI. awarded to Patrick Leslie of Pitcairlie . This was the second son of Andrew Leslie , 5th Earl of Rothes , and since 1569 at the latest Commendatabbot of Lindores Abbey in Fife , which has now been converted into a secular rule.
The title has been suspended since the childless death of his descendant, the 8th Lord, on May 11, 1813.
