Lords of Xulima is a role-playing game released in 2014 by the Spanish development studio Numantian Games . It was implemented for Windows , macOS and Linux .
history
Lords of Xulima was first published on November 14, 2014. The Mac version followed a little later in 2016. It is the first game from Numantian Games. Her subsequent project was also a strategy game called "They Are Billions" (German: They are Billions ).
Game course and plot
Lords of Xulima is based on the principle of a turn-based RPG . The player starts with the selection of his group of characters for the journey to Xulima , the continent of the gods. Different classes and skills can be selected, which will be further improved later in the game as the characters gain experience and advance to the next level. By exploring the landscape on the continent, the player draws a map of the area where he is. In principle, the player can travel to any place in Xulima , on foot or later by ship. There is a large open world, which is only limited by overpowering opponents. The fight takes place in a closed arena and is carried out with strategic elements.
The player can make all decisions himself, but must pay attention to his natural abilities and good equipment for the trip. So every player has an individual course of the game. In the meantime there is the possibility to relax in villages.
The mission at Lords of Xulima is to explore the continent and collect the artifacts of the gods. After a war breaks out on the continent of Rodinia that threatens to destroy all human creations, a young explorer named Gaulen is sent to restore the balance between gods and humans.
Extensions
In addition to the game, the player can also buy the DLC "The Talisman of Golot". This makes it possible for the player to have certain wishes fulfilled using the artifact, such as B. the transfer to another place or the conversion of gold into experience or food. This expansion helps the player but is not required to complete the game.

Lords of Xulima received mostly positive reviews. The long playing time, the clear structure and the atmospheric music were praised. The sometimes repetitive course of the game and the lack of ingenuity among the groups of opponents, as well as opponents that were sometimes too difficult, were criticized.
Metacritic gave 71 out of 100 points and 7.8 out of 10 points in the user rating, based on 121 ratings, equal to GameSpot with 7.8 points.
