Origin and meaning
The name probably comes from the Venetian family name Loredan , which means "coming from (the place) Loreo ".
The name was used and popularized by the French writer George Sand in her novel Mattea (1833), and later by the Swiss-Italian writer Luciano Zuccoli in his novel L'amore di Loredana (1908).
