Lorenz Vogil

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dresden councilor and mayor Lorenz Vogil (also Lorentz, Laurencz Vogel ) lived in the 15th century .

Little is known about Vogel's origins and life. His name appears for the first time in connection with a house purchase in an entry from December 19, 1455 in the Dresden city book. From 1458 he was a member of the city council and took over the office of master builder. He was responsible for all urban construction projects and the administration of the council's own buildings. In 1463 he was elected mayor and appears for the last time as councilor the following year. In 1465 he is mentioned again as the owner of a house in Zahnsgasse.
