action

Jess Carlin, accused by saloon owner Starr, remains unmolested in Mexico while wanted north of the border, despite innocence of the accused crime. When he learns that his brother, a peace-loving journalist, was shot dead in a duel, he crosses it and, after a shootout with bounty hunters, arrives at Rimrock. There the brutal Luke Starr controls the events. The saloon girl Kit is ensnared by him, but falls in love with Carlin, who also meets his brother's fiancée Sandy. Carlin knows that Starr is the culprit in the brother's death, but cannot produce any evidence until he gets an item found on the body. The spur wheel matches exactly those on Starr's holster. He confronts Starr in the saloon after he can escape with Kit's help from a trap set for him and can shoot him in a duel. He moves off to clear his name while Kit will wait for him.

criticism

The lexicon of international films was anything but enthusiastic: “Off-the-peg westerns filmed in Spain, which is noticeable because of its cynical tone.” Joe Hembus , who was one of the first results of the collaboration between Hollywood and Spain , was more positive Film “appreciated. The evangelical film observer also discovered a few positive aspects in the film: “Once again a man avenges his murdered brother, again the vigilante justice that is to be rejected, here even in the complete absence of the authority to order. Otherwise, this seasoned American-Spanish color widescreen western is technically quite acceptable and would therefore be wearable for more mature people. "

Remarks

The work is a remake of The Avengers of Texas ( Panhandle ) filmed in 1948 by the director-screenwriter team Selander and Champion.

The title song is sung by the composer, Nico Fidenco with I Cantori Moderni .
