Lorenzo Ornaghi

Lorenzo Ornaghi (born October 25, 1948 in Villasanta , Lombardy ) is an Italian political scientist . From November 2011 to April 2013 he was the Italian Minister of Culture .

Life

Lorenzo Ornaghi graduated from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore with a degree in political science in 1972 , where he worked in research. In 1987 he was appointed associate professor at the University of Teramo . In 1990 he took over the professorship for political science at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. In 2002 he was Vice Rector and responsible for international relations. He has been Rector of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore since 2006 and was re-elected in 2010.

Lorenzo Ornaghi was Minister for Cultural Property from November 16, 2011 to April 28, 2013 in the government of Italy's Prime Minister Mario Monti .

Politically, Ornaghi is associated with the conservative Catholic movement Comunione e Liberazione .
