Giancarlo Galan (born September 10, 1956 in Padua ) is an Italian politician of Forza Italia (2013) .

Life

From April 23, 1995 to April 21, 2010, Galan was President of the Veneto Region . From April 16, 2010 to March 23, 2011, Galan was the successor to Luca Zaia, Minister of Agriculture in Italy. His successor in office was Francesco Saverio Romano . Galan was Minister of Culture in Italy from March 23, 2011 to November 16, 2011 in the Berlusconi IV cabinet . His successor in office was Lorenzo Ornaghi . In the 1970s and 1980s he was a member of the Partito Liberale Italiano . From 1994 to 2009 he was a member of the Forza Italia party and from 2009 to 2013 he was a member of Il Popolo della Libertà . He has been a member of the Forza Italia party since 2013 (2013) . In October 2014, Galan was arrested for bribery and money laundering in the MO.SE project .
