Lothar Bösing

Lothar Bösing (born November 29, 1952 ) is a German educator , basketball official and non-fiction author.

Life

Bösing was a teacher and university lecturer, as a basketball coach he worked in the youth, women and men division. In the Basketball Association of Baden-Wuerttemberg he was from 1994 (and until 2006) Vice President for Teaching and coach beings. He held the post of government director in the Ministry of Sports of the State of Baden-Württemberg for seven years and was Secretary General of the German Conference of Sports Ministers for three years. In spring 2012 he took over as director of the state seminar for didactics and teacher training in Tübingen .

In 2006 Büsing moved to the board of the German Basketball Federation (DBB), became Vice President for Education and Chairman of the Teaching and Coaching Commission. Between 2011 and 2015 he was the managing director of the Federal Academy of the German Basketball Federation GmbH. In addition, he was chairman of the Association of German Basketball Trainers. In 2016, Bösing was awarded the Golden Badge of Honor of the German Basketball Federation.

For the DBB and the General German University Sports Association, he also acted as head of delegation for tournament trips by basketball teams such as summer universities . In November 2018, he took part in a trip to China as a member of a delegation from Federal Foreign Minister Heiko Maas .

Bösing was a member of the finance commission for the European basketball association FIBA Europa .

He is co-author of the books “Handbuch Basketball” and “Ich trainieren Basketball”.
