Lothar Hahn (born November 8, 1947 ) was a football player in the GDR Oberliga , the highest East German football class. There he played for FC Hansa Rostock . He is a twelve-time GDR young national player.

Lothar Hahn played for BSG Nord Torgelow until he was 19 . There he last played in the men's division in the third-rate district league Neubrandenburg . In 1967 Hahn moved to the BSG unit Greifswald in the Rostock district league. The Greifswalders had played in the second-rate GDR league for many years until 1966 and were in the process of rebuilding. With the new team, the BSG unit aimed for promotion in the 1967/68 season, which was finally achieved with the sovereign win of the district championship and the successful performance in the promotion games. The 20-year-old Hahn was an important pillar of the team, behind his teammates Tolsdorf and Czichowski he was the third-best scorer in the district league with 20 goals. Also in his first GDR league season 1968/69 Hahn was one of the regular players, he played 29 of the 30 point games, usually as a center forward. In the higher division, however, it was harder to score goals, but with his six goals he was again the third best scorer on his team. His talent did not go unnoticed by those responsible for selecting GDR football. At the end of the season Hahn was used for the first time on April 10, 1969 in the youth national team. In the course of his career he made a total of twelve international matches with the youth team by 1971.

This also made Hahn interesting for the top division club FC Hansa Rostock, the region’s football focus. In the summer of 1969, FC moved to Rostock. Hahn was immediately used in the league team from the start of the season and took over the position of left winger. In his first league season he played 21 of the 26 point games. He scored his first goal for Rostock on matchday three, but only scored two goals in the course of the season. A year later, in the 1970/71 season, he was after he had been used in all the league games, with nine goals already the best Hansa shooter and finished in seventh place in the Oberliga scorer list. In the two following years Hahn was less successful due to injury to train. It was not until 1973/74 that he was part of the league team again with 23 matches and with seven goals he was second best scorer after Joachim Streich (14). In 1975/76 the entire Hansa team jammed, Hahn only got one hit. With only 29 goals in 26 games, FC Hansa had to relegate to the GDR league. The recovery succeeded immediately, Hahn was involved in the 30 games with ten inserts and three goals. In his last league season 1976/77 Hahn played only three point games and remained without a goal. At the end of the season, Hansa Rostock was relegated again and Hahn ended his career as a high-performance athlete at the age of 29.

From 1980 Lothar Hahn was a coach in the youth division of FC Hansa Rostock. When the FC had to restructure due to the changed economic conditions as a result of German reunification, Hahn was dismissed as coach. Then he was a talent scout at Hamburger SV for a short time.
