Lothar Müller (politician)

Lothar Müller (born December 8, 1947 in Bludenz ) is a former Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and publisher's representative. Müller was a member of the Federal Council from 1979 to 1986 and a member of the Austrian National Council from 1986 to 1994 .

After primary school, Müller attended grammar school in Lochau and Graz and passed his Matura in 1966. He then studied theology at the University of Innsbruck and graduated in 1972 as Mag. Theol. from. In 1975, Müller received his doctorate as Dr. theol. During his studies, Müller worked as a research assistant and contract assistant at the Institute for Moral Theology and Social Studies at the University of Innsbruck; between 1973 and 1976 he was the regional office manager of the Dr. Karl Renner Institute Tyrol. Between 1976 and 1986 Müller worked as the state party secretary of the SPÖ Tyrol .

Müller represented the SPÖ from October 23, 1979 to December 16, 1986 in the Federal Council and was a member of the National Council from December 17, 1986 to June 10, 1994. Afterwards, Müller was active as the executive city councilor of the state capital Innsbruck. Müller was also a member of the regional party executive of the SPÖ Tyrol.
