Lotte Haidegger
Charlotte Elisabeth "Lotte" Haidegger (born June 15, 1925 ) is a former Austrian athlete . In 1948 and 1952 she was fifth in the discus throw .
Charlotte Haidegger from Wiener AF was on May 24th 1947 the first Austrian female discus thrower to throw the target over 40 meters. Her national record of 40.19 m was increased to 40.95 m by Frieda Tiltsch in the same competition . At the student world games in 1947 Haidegger won with 38.40 m and was able to successfully defend this title in 1949 and 1951. After Haidegger had finished fifth at the Olympic Games in London with 38.81 m, she increased the national record to 42.05 m in August. In 1949 Haidegger improved the Austrian record four times, but lost the title and record to Ine Schäffer at the state championship . On June 15, 1950, Haidegger increased the national record to 43.53 m. In the final of the European Championships in 1950 this performance would have been enough to win silver, with 37.40 m Haidegger finished eighth in Brussels. In 1951 and 1952 she won the Austrian championship twice, her personal best of 45.24 m she threw on May 17, 1952 in Budapest, this national record lasted until 1955. At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 she finished again with 43.49 m fifth place.
