Lotty Faber

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lotty Faber (born March 2, 1907 in Blieskastel , † 1985 in Zweibrücken ) was a German homeland poet who wrote mainly everyday poetry and occasional poems, especially on birthdays, festivals and anniversaries as well as events in the calendar year.

Life

At a young age she worked as a foreign language correspondent in Paris .

In 1970 and 1975 she published two volumes of poetry, which were dedicated to her hometown Blieskastel. Faber is of great importance to regional literature because her poems represent socio-historical evidence that would otherwise have been forgotten. The local peculiarities attested in this way have an immanent significance. Particularly striking about Lotty Faber are the poems in which she describes her personal view of large and small historical events as well as places and stories about "her" city that are significant for her life history. The homage "Old and New Blieskastel" testifies to this. Her tone of voice is entertaining and cheerful, and rhymed throughout.

In 1971 the Saarländischer Rundfunk TV station broadcast a “dialect chat” which was combined with historical images of the town of Blieskastel.
