Louis-Auguste Desmarres

Louis-Auguste Desmarres (born September 22, 1810 in Évreux , Eure department , † August 22, 1882 in Neuilly-sur-Seine , Hauts-de-Seine department ) was a French ophthalmologist.

After receiving his doctorate, he worked as an assistant to Frédéric Jules Sichel . In 1842 he founded a private eye clinic in Paris.

Today several medical instruments are named after Desmarres.
