Louis-Joseph Anthonissen
Louis-Joseph Anthonissen (born February 11, 1849 in Zandvliet , † October 5, 1913 in Antwerp ) was a Belgian orientalist painter.
Anthonissen studied at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerpen and at the École des beaux-arts de Paris .
After graduating, he worked in Paris from 1880 to 1889. He exhibited his works from 1890 to 1912 in the salon of the Société nationale des beaux-arts . He was mainly devoted to orientalism , often visiting Algeria (especially Biskra ) and Morocco .
