Louis Allard

Louis Allard (* 1852 ; † 1940 ) was a French trombonist and music teacher.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Allard was a student of Paul Delisse . He played the trombone in the orchestras of the Opéra-Comique and from 1886 to 1911 in the Société des Concerts du Conservatoire . From 1888 he taught at the Conservatoire de Paris , from 1890 to 1925 he was professor of trombone there. One of his students was the composer and trombonist André Lafosse . For the lessons he wrote transcriptions of works by Jean-Baptiste Arbans , Jean-Baptiste Willent-Bordognis and others.
